Sisters

Abbie and Emma are enjoying having their mornings to play together. They have just a few hours before we take Abbie to school at 10:30. They are very different people. Abbie is reserved and (mostly) quiet. She spends hours making projects and drawing. While she loved clothes and getting her hair fixed, she absolutely hates make-up, finger nail polish and jewelry. Emma is a friend to everyone. She is not reserved, and will hug and kiss anyone she sees. She loves to play with baby dolls and play pretend. She gets upset if I call anyone else sweetie pie (because that's her name!!!) She absolutely adores make-up, finger nail polish and jewelry. Hopefully they will love each other for their differences and always play as well as they are this morning :)
Emma always climbs up on the counter when I am putting on my make-up. She acquired (i.e. stole) two lip glosses from me already. On the first day of school Emma brought her lunch so she could eat with Abbie, I open it up to find the usual lunch food, and two lip glosses (this girl has her priorities!!!)

Summers over (I guess)

We spent all last week trying to do all the things that we wanted to do all summer and just never got a round to. We went to the lake twice, went to the Aquatic Center and hung out with our friends. We went swimming on average two or three times a day, which was great because it was 110 degrees here the whole week.

Tyler had his first Scouting activity (is her really that old???) He did the Space Derby. He really had a blast. I just couldn't get over how big he looked in his Scout uniform (and he got new glasses, his eyes are improving and so he needed a lower prescription) which make him look older, too. (He had to get adult size glasses because his head is so big. Lest you think I am making fun of my potato head son, he is very proud of his head and thinks that it's great...big head=big brain, which in his case is very true).
School started on Monday. Tyler is in 3rd and Abbie in Kindergarten and Emma hanging out with mommy.

(Abbie is in her experimental smile phase and so we are never quite sure what we will get.)

Abbie and her friends squishing into a lunch table holder cubbie.

Emma and Abbie both wanted curly hair for the first day of school. So cute..

School starts in 7 days

Summer break is almost over. Much has been happening around here. I have finally recovered from our camping trip (although alot of stuff is still sitting around on the garage floor, so I guess not totally recovered). The kids finished up with swimming, with the final swim meet (NVAL's) on the first weekend of Aug. We were looking forward to a little break but the soccer gods decided that the season needs 3 more weeks and so soccer started last week (it doesn't end until Nov.!!!!) In my opinion the season was already 3 weeks too long, but what can you do? We had Ericks Birthday/Opening Ceremonies party on Friday night. We love the Olympics, and have been watching nonstop since Friday night. GO WORLD!!! Ericks Birthday was on Saturday, Becky watched the kids in the morning so that Erick and I could run together. My present to him was letting him have the running miles for his Nike+ tally. (We share an Ipod Nike+ thingy and so only one persons miles can be counted, we don't usually get the chance to run together so it is usually not an issue.) But Erick knows how competitive I am and so hopefully he appreciates how hard that was for me. That 11 miles put him ahead in some of our Nike+ challenges. Happy Birthday Erick, you are worth it!!!
Tyler and Jason showing off their trophies at the swimming awards BBQ.Abbie walked away with a medal as well.Obviously Emma didn't didn't get a trophy and she's not very happy about that.
